Whoson Exception Raising

An exception is an event that occurs on your web server that may need your attention. (For example a 404 page not found error). When an exception is raised it is added to the Exceptions list, which you can view via the WhosOn screen or via the web access feature. WhosOn will also raise an exception if your web server stops responding. It does this by periodically requesting a page from your site.

You can also define additional actions that are triggered in real time when each exception is raised. These actions are:

Email - a message can be emailed to you giving full details of the exception.
SMS Text - a text message can be sent to your mobile phone.
Net Message - a message can be sent to one or more network users.
Event Log - the exception can be added to the Windows event log.
Run Program - the exception can trigger an EXE or Script to be executed on the computer.

One or all of these actions can be defined against each individual exception type.
